Fisheries Field in Galway was the site of a visit from CON MÓR, The Giant, whose arrival at Macnas HQ on the banks of the River Corrib captivated audiences of all ages over two days, even making the front page of the Irish Times.
Inventors and explorers from around the world were left stunned by the discovery of evidence suggesting an ancient giant living beneath the Macnas workshop at Fisheries Field. Professor Marjorie Morrigan, a renowned expert on Giants & Their Origins, commented, "This giant appears to have been here for centuries. There's a massive iron nose, so large and rusted, you could easily park a car in one of the nostrils.”
During my time in the Macnas Collide internship program, I assisted the creative team in bringing Con Mor to life and created a bird totem inspired by the Morrigan to accompany the piece.
